Mark’s career spans over 50 years starting with his first job as a film projectionist for the original NBC Saturday Night Live. A three-time Emmy award winning designer and producer, Mark has participated in 6 Olympic broadcasts as well as 3 Super Bowls and 5 Presidential Elections for major television networks. He lives with his family in Westhampton Beach since 2014.

- Mark served as a graphic design consultant with The CBS Evening News.
- Mark was employed by ABC News and Sports and worked for such broadcast luminaries as Roone Arledge, Howard Cosell and Peter Jennings.
- Mark Bernardo was a finalist in the World Trade Center Memorial design competition when he submitted the worlds first interactive memorial honoring those lost on 9/11/2001.
- Mark has also been honored with a 2013 Peabody Award for his contribution to ABC News coverage of Superstorm Sandy.
- Feature Films such as Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban have featured Mark’s visual effects creative contributions.
- He has designed and consulted on advertising campaigns for Television advertising and promotion as well as Fortune 500 companies.
- Mark has staffed projects with million dollar budgets as Creative Director of All Mobile Video Inc. Deadlines and revsions were mission critical in the pursuit of a cost effective final project.
- He most recently volunteered and canvassed for the John Avlon and Bridget Fleming campaigns for the United States Congress.
- Mark is dedicated to improving the lives of the people of Southampton through access to services that are convenient and understandable. His experience makes Mark more than qualified to serve the people of Southampton.
- He is a member of the Westhampton Beach Rotary as well as a volunteer usher and bartender at The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.
- Mark has been married to Lisa Bernardo for 44 years and is the father of Doctor Sebastian Bernardo who is an attending psychiatrist at Mount Sinai in New York.
- Mark has built a sustainable carbon neutral home featuring Solar, Geo thermal and Heat pump technologies as a demonstration his commitment to the environment.
- Mark has been a bee keeper since 2017.
