The Hon. Andrea Harum Schiavoni, an attorney in Sag Harbor, is a licensed member of the state bars of New York and Florida, and the bar of the District of Columbia. After graduation from the University of Miami, FL in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a few years working as a journalist and editor, Judge Schiavoni earned her Juris Doctorate from Whittier College School of Law in Los Angeles, CA, receiving a grant in Juvenile Justice. In law school she worked as an intern with the Gang Unit of the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s office and the Abuse and Neglect Part of the Los Angeles County Dependency Court, and Clerked for Florida State Attorney, Janet Reno.
Judge Schiavoni began her legal career in Florida at the law firm of her father, Albert E. Harum Jr., established in 1966, handling workers’ compensation litigation and cases related to employment discrimination. Upon her dad’s death in 1997, Judge Schiavoni became the president of the firm, renamed Harum & Harum, and in 2001, Judge Schiavoni opened an office in Sag Harbor where she practiced exclusively as one of New York’s expert mediators. In 2008 she was elected to the Southampton Town Court bench. In 2010 she was appointed to establish the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court and serve as judge; in 2013 she was appointed to start an East End Veterans Court serving as its first judge, and in 2017 she was appointed to serve as one of the East End Regional Intervention Court Judges. By reelection she continues as a Southampton Town Justice, Veterans Court Judge and Drug Court Judge. Judge Schiavoni, also, lectures and teaches Continuing Legal Education around the State of New York in the areas of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Veterans Treatment Courts and Landlord/Tenant Summary Proceedings, and is of Counsel to Campolo, Middleton and McCormick, LLP.
